i made this video out of massive love and respect for radiohead. the new album is brilliant, and it grows on me more and more every day. i won't get into all the politics of the record labels and the music business, but i'll just say please buy the record and support them, they deserve it.
this video was created as the final project for my Digital Video 1 class. i made it using a cheap canon mini-dv camera, a decent SLR, Final Cut Pro, and AfterEffects.

Radiohead "Videotape" Live Best Recording -- In Rainbows

The perfectly executed early version of Videotape. Small key loft to bass/melodic piano opening. Jonny has his upbeat guitar mutes in the second movement. Yorke sings through to each new point of the song. "Verse chorus verse" in function; but, to me, it remains an epilogue to paranoid android.
Some people can't let go of this implementation. I'm one of 'em. I'll be honest about that. I can't take this down. Started as just a "look at this new unreleased song". In a way, that pretense remains.

P.S. The Iraq ref. at the end is supposed to be ironic re: what Yorke was saying about Cadillac. "Change the name, then everybody won't hate us" (WMD negation to 'Iraqi Freedom' - has nothing to do with the song). Was just a throw away for the banter at the end. I didn't edit it out (paranoid android was the next song btw) because I felt it added to the rawness of the song. I wish I didn't put it in. Again, it has nothing to do with the song, just to do with the statement about Cadillac, and my own ironic pic. Perhaps it was my mood that night. The "enlist" brute in the song has nothing to do with the Iraqi War. So, bad choice on my side.. for the ending thing. Anyway...
