Altantuya murder: Application filed to force an appeal

Lawyer Karpal Singh, acting on behalf of Altantuya Shaariibuu's family, today filed an application at the Shah Alam High Court to compel the prosecution to appeal against the acquittal of political analyst Abdul Razak Baginda.

The Fight for Life children's cancer charity is committed to raising substantial funds each year to maintain the Radiotherapy Unit treating children at the new University College Hospital in Marylebone Road, London.
This unit services all of Great Ormond Street's radiotherapy needs and is the primary paediatric radiotherapy unit in the south-east of England. Since FFL began in 1997 we have purchased our very own Radiotherapy Linear Accelerator machine, a PET/CT Scanner and we maintain a wonderful Children's Play Area which is regularly updated with toys and equipment.
The play area and their wonderful play therapist help to make the unit and the treatment much more 'kid friendly' and much less scary. |

With the Earl Van Dyke Sextet. From the Ready Steady Go (RSG), Sound Of Motown TV special, recorded at the Rediffusion TV studios in London on 18 March 1965.
**Historical notes**:
This special was mainly Dusty Springfield's idea, to promote the Motown music and artists in Britain. Dusty was an occasional presenter of the weekly Ready Steady Go (which had the tag line... The Weekend Starts Here). She was a big fan of Motown music, and suggested the idea for this special to Vicki Wickham, recording artists manager, and RSG's producer at Rediffusion.
Let's hope that this show (and other surviving RSG footage) one day gets a DVD release. It's now been 20 years since anything's been heard of these shows. The "Rediffusion London" TV station ceased to exist after July 1968, when the franchise for commercial TV in the London region changed. Sadly, only a handful of their music shows have survived. Most of the RSG shows are now lost to history. |
