Texas Congressman Ron Paul has blasted former Federal Reserve chairman Alan Greenspan, calling him "intellectually arrogant" after he blamed free market capitalism for the current financial crisis and diverted questions away from his own actions.
"I think he's trying to save his place in history but I don't think he's going to achieve it unless he confesses and goes back to his roots and goes back to writing articles for Ayn Rand." Paul told Neil Cavuto on Fox Business yesterday evening.
"There's no way he's going to escape the blame for this, I guess I am shocked also that he pretends he is shocked too." Paul, a member of the House Committee on Financial Services, commented.
Greenspan yesterday described the current financial crisis as a "once-in-a-century credit tsunami" and blamed flaws in the workings of the free-market system, something he said had left him in a "state of shocked disbelief".
"What I really resent about it is that he knows and understood at one time what capitalism was all about. He went and distorted it," Ron Paul urged.
"Now he says 'this is the death of capitalism and what we need now are really really good regulations on derivatives.' No, we need to remove the system that creates derivatives."
Paul asserted that the Federal Reserve chairman, whoever it may be, does not have the wisdom to regulate monetary policy because they are driven to excess and are part of an inherently flawed system.
"In a way they are intellectually arrogant because they believe that only they know what the market knows. Nobody knows what the proper rate of interest is, it's always too high or too low." Paul said |

After being dumped by her boyfriend just before their 100 day anniversary, Ha-Young (Ha Ji-Won) meets a college guy named Hyung-Joon when she accidentally kicks a can that hits him in the face and causes him to scratch his Lexus. He demands she pay him $3000 on the spot. She escapes from him, leaving her wallet behind.
Hyung-Joon stalks her, demanding money to pay for his car. Since she is a poor high school student Hyung-Joon writes up a "Enslavement Agreement" for Ha-Young in order to pay for the damage to his car. Ha-Young is thrown into a nightmarish slave life for 100 days, cleaning his house, running his errands, doing his homework and cleaning his car.
By accident she finds out that the damage to Hyung-Joon's car only costs $10! She then takes her revenge. However, before she knows it Hyung-Joon shows up at her house as her new tutor! He once again takes advantage of her, but soon Ha-Young finds herself falling head over heels for Hyung-Joon. But what happens when he drops out of her life just when she needs him most?
The original Korean title can be literally translated as "my love, the asshole," or, more roughly, as "my love, the no-manners". |

SYNOPSIS:
Ha Ji-Won (Phone, Sex is Zero) is Ha-Young, a too-daffy high school senior who makes the egregious error of accidentally kicking a soda can while college student Hyung-Joon (Kim Jae-Won) is driving by in his Lexus. The can strikes him squarely in the noggin, drawing blood and causing him to slightly damage his expensive automobile. He's rightfully pissed, but Ha-Young is poor. Since he can't squeeze money from someone who has none, Hyung-Joon proffers a suspiciously sordid bargain:
