STOP BILL C-51

This bill seeks to "regulate" vitamins, alternative health products, and cosmetics for our own "protection". It could ban up to 70% of the natural items Canadians use as an alternative to pharmaceutical drugs. Furthermore, hidden within this bill are extreme measures of power and control that the government can use to inhibit our freedoms!

Dear [Name],
I am writing to express my extreme concern about the recent Bill C-51 that is being considered in the House of Commons. I would like to state that the extreme measures in this Act are completely unacceptable, and my disappointment would impact my vote in any upcoming election should this act be made into binding legislation.
There must be many changes to this Bill before I would support it. Firstly, the extreme power of agents to seize property and banking accounts without warrant is an abuse of the privacy of Canadian citizens. Why is this contained in a bill that is proposed to protect our health through regulation? It seems like there is a covert agenda to this legislation that would limit the freedom of Canadians, and this cannot be tolerated. As my elected representative I demand that you adamantly oppose this bill.
Furthermore, the proposal to fast track new drugs to market reduces the safety measures that are in place to protect Canadians from pharmaceuticals that could be dangerous. Is the government more concerned with the agenda of the pharmaceutical companies or the health interests of Canadians?
Finally, this act allows Canadian agents rather than elected officials to make binding laws behind closed doors in secret. This is in direct contradiction to the rights of Canadians if Canada is indeed still a democracy.
As my elected representative, you simply must listen to the concerns of Canadians, and you must oppose this bill.

HOW TO RESIST:
a) research C-51 and the SPP, etc.
b) talk to family, friends, neighbours, and other people about these issues.
c) write a letter to or email your political representatives and the prime minister.
d) contact local and national media and state your concern.
e) attend a local rally protesting bill C-51 or the SPP, etc.
f) find your own non-violent and fun ways to resist !
